One of the standout events we participate in is the East African Safari Classic Rally, where every two years we send a full Tuthill team out to Kenya. Competing with our own fleet of fully Tuthill-built cars, this rally is a true test of endurance and performance. It’s an iconic event, and one where our team thrives—bringing our signature passion, expertise, and determination to one of the toughest rallies in the world.

ABOUT THE EVENT

It all began as the East African Coronation Safari in June of 1953. It crossed Kenya, Uganda and Tanganyika (Tanzania).



Renamed in 1960 to the East Africa Safari Classic Rally, following the independence of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, the rally continued to cross borders with event start and finish points regularly changing.

Widely regarded as one of the most popular African rallies, it became a key part of the international WRC calendar.

Following the WRC event calendar changing in 2003, the rally was relaunched for classic cars running every two years where a Tuthill prepared Porsche has competed at every edition making us the most successful team in the events history, winning the event 5 times.



This event runs for nine days with a rest day in between. With up to 200km daily of special stages and a total of 4,000 kilometres, the rally covers some of the world’s toughest and most scenic stages in Africa.
